  • Optimiser leur flexibilité pour adapter leur fabrication à la disponibilité de leur parc machines ;
  • Augmenter les cadences et le TRS des machines CN ;
  • Sécuriser les changements machines en un clic en générant un nouveau programme CN simulé, vérifié, optimisé et validé, quelle que soit la machine à commande numérique avant et après ;
  • Suivre toutes les modifications effectuées suite au changement de machines dans les différentes séquences d'usinage ;
  • Capitaliser le travail du programmeur par une reprise automatique des informations venant de la FAO ;
  • Gérer et exporter les bruts intermédiaires en dynamique, pour une vérification instantanée des données tout au long de la phase d'usinage.
NCSIMUL CAM devient NCSIMUL 4CAM... Pourquoi ?
« Pour marquer de façon précise et sans ambiguïté le positionnement de notre produit, qui est un complément des FAO et non une FAO de plus, » affirme Gilles Battier, PDG de SPRING Technologies. « Nous connaissons nos points forts et nous les mettons en œuvre pour offrir des innovations technologiques à nos clients, et non un ersatz de solution déjà existante sur le marché. Notre objectif est, encore et toujours, de rester à l'écoute de leurs besoins pour les aider dans leur démarche vers l'Usine 4.0. »

NCSIMUL CAM: Streamline your CNC programming and make your shop floor more flexible than ever

Enrich your existing CAM process with NCSIMUL CAM, a new product within the NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS platform

SPRING Technologies, vendor of software that optimizes the use of NC Machines, announces the worldwide launch of NCSIMUL CAM. This new product delivers agile CNC programming to streamline the current CAM process and provides unparalleled flexibility on the shop floor.

Fully integrated in the new unified NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS V10 platform (including NCSIMUL MACHINE, NCSIMUL TOOL, and NCSIMUL DNC), it embodies SPRING Technologies’ response to today’s issues in CNC machine programming: removing the typical organizational method of tool path generation (CAM), post-processing, G-code verification and simulation and streamlining the conventional CNC programming process.

According to the company, the primary benefits will be significant cost savings and optimal use of CNC machine because of the flexible programming capability. “This is a major new step forward for the company’s product strategy and in the manufacturing industry,” said Philippe Solignac, corporate marketing director for SPRING Technologies.

The company will demonstrate the new product at the Paris Air Show, stand E71, Hall 2B.

NCSIMUL CAM Product Overview

NCSIMUL CAM directly generates verified and optimized CNC programs, while factoring in the physical resources available on the shop floor, including tools, cutting conditions, kinematics and machine controllers.

With this new solution CAM data (APT neutral file / CL-data) and existing CNC programs can be used easily to generate a valid new CNC program in just a few clicks for another machine using different kinematics and controller. This will enable manufacturers to quickly adapt their existing programs to new resources when retrofitting a machine, buying a new one or when a machining process is repurposed. With a conventional CAM process (CAM-Post-Processor-Machining Simulation), this task could take hours, even days. With NCSIMUL CAM, these times are slashed to minutes.

Likewise, if the target machine initially planned for the CAM program is no longer available for maintenance reasons or is already being used to meet production, it will take just one click with NCSIMUL CAM to switch programming to another machine – whatever its complexity (3X to 5X, 5X to 4X…), the type of kinematics (tilting head to table-on-table for instance) or the type of controller (FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain…).

Thanks to the integration of NCSIMUL Tool database, NCSIMUL CAM provides a direct access to 3D tool data and cutting conditions and automatically reconfigures the tool magazine.

This will provide manufacturers with the level of flexibility they need to achieve rapid switching of scheduled production from one CNC machine to another, making their production means fully flexible and agile.

5 key features of NCSIMUL CAM:

  •  “Hybrid” programming, taking the pain out of legacy re-use,
  •  Error-free programming in native NC code, for an all-in-one solution,
  •  No more external post-processor, streamlining the CAM process,
  •  One-click re-programming, for complete flexibility,
  •  Dynamic management of intermediary rough stocks for unrivalled programming comfort

AMD Online Magazine: Simulation for laying composite material

Aerospace Manufacturing and Design Online Magazine posted an article on SPRING Technologies to outline the result of several years’ collaboration with major aerospace customers, NCSIMUL Machine 9.1 can replicate material laying processes executed by numerical control (NC) machines.

This machining simulation software decodes NC programs, representing the machine environment in 3D to identify and analyze programming errors and collisions. A Composite option enables a dynamic representation of fiber ribbon laying, depicting the 3D form of the carbon fiber. Positioning of each fiber in the ribbon is managed independently.

The software alerts users to issues specific to the way composites are processed and liable to occur in machining. Alerts include fiber steering angle errors, twisting of taut fiber between the head and the position on the spool, fiber tension issues including speed disparities between fibers or sudden changes of direction that can create backwards laying.

Analysis functions can send information to the process planning department and the design office before going live. Analysis can be for the length of the laid material, layer thickness, fiber ribbon intersection angle, and aperture radius. The section-plane function gives insights into layering or possible holes in the material. At any time, the fiber path, or the end result of the material laying generated on the tooling in CAD, can be exported.

The software considers the shape of the initial tooling and the tension applied to the fibers. Fast algorithms enable fiber laying simulation with performances of 300m/min on a conventional CAD workstation.

 http://springplm.com/contenu.php?ID=553

THE MAIN NEW FEATURE OF NCSIMUL MACHINE 9.1

Simulation of COMPOSITE MATERIAL LAYING

The result of several years’ collaboration with major aerospace customers, NCSIMUL Machine 9.1 today makes it possible to replicate material laying processes executed by Numerical Control machines.

Just as it does in conventional machining, NCSIMUL Machine 9.1 decodes all types of NC programs, representing the complete machine environment in 3D to identify and analyze programming errors and collisions. The “Composite” option of this version also enables a dynamic representation of fiber ribbon laying, taking into consideration the 3D form of the carbon fiber. The positioning of each fiber in the ribbon is managed independently.

NCSIMUL Machine 9.1 alerts users to issues that are specific to the way Composites are processed and that are liable to occur on real-world machines: these include fiber steering angle errors generating possible deviation, twisting of taut fiber between the head and the position on the spool, fiber tension issues including speed disparities between fibers or sudden changes of direction creating backwards laying.

Analysis functions can be used to communicate information to the Process Planning department and the Design Office before going live. This includes the length of the laid material, layer thickness measurement, fiber ribbon intersection angle, aperture radius, etc. The section plane function gives insights into layering or possible holes in the material. At any time, you can export the fiber path or the end result of the material laying generated on the tooling in CAD format.

NCSIMUL Machine 9.1 takes into consideration the shape of the initial tooling and the tension applied to the fibers. SPRING Technologies has developed very fast new algorithms enabling fiber laying simulation with performances of 300 m/min. on a conventional CAD workstation.

All the functions dedicated to Composite technology are grouped together in a new Ribbon (Office mode) for a fast effective learning curve.

SPRING Technologies announces NCSIMUL DNC 8.20: connecting and monitoring your CNC machines is now so easy

SPRING Technologies, vendor of solutions that enhance the productivity of NC machines, is launching the new version 8.20 of its NCSIMUL DNC solution, supporting CNC program life cycle management and real-time monitoring of machine status in the workshop.

“An integral part of the NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS range, the NCSIMUL DNC module is the ideal addition, delivering complete control of the global machining process. From CAM to machined part, production resources are much easier to manage, with clear, one-click reporting”, explains Olivier Bellaton, Managing Director of SPRING Technologies.

THE NEW FEATURES OF NCSIMUL DNC 8.20
Highlights:
  • An enhanced user experience for more efficient collaboration
  • More automation to boost productivity
  • Easier installation to enable rapid, efficient deployment
  • Tighter integration for a leaner digital process
In detail

1. ENHANCED USER EXPERIENCE for greater productivity and faster execution

For customized reporting, using the quick and simple customization functions, you can create all kinds of reports to match specific corporate needs. The key performance indicators, defined in-house for each user profile (workshop manager, production manager, site manager, etc.), are easy to access and facilitate instant communication of key metrics to the whole workshop community.

In this way, you can select the periodicity for monitoring indicators, and the different types of indicators (opening time, required time, running time, net time, effective time, etc.) for each monitored machine. The data can then be consolidated in a PDF file or displayed in real time by the NCSIMUL DNC application from any supervisory workstation, offering global control of the workshop and contributing to the process of continuous improvement of the use of production resources.

Document traceability is available with one-click access. Access to histories and version traceability is more intuitive and directly available from the ISO program version management window.

Finally, NCSIMUL DNC, implemented on Toughpad (Panasonic’s rugged tablet), makes total mobility in the workshop a reality for operators and managers, via an interface and specific functions designed especially for use on a touch pad. The interface has been streamlined, the main buttons resized, enhancing access to functions and cutting out input errors, notably when qualifying machine status.

“After synchronizing real machining with machining simulation and making instruction sheets accessible from a Toughpad — a capability that we demonstrated at EMO — we are progressing the execution of our vision: the NCEXPERIENCE®, by taking the leading functions of NCSIMUL DNC and real-time machine status monitoring on to a mobile platform. A major step forward for all the stakeholders in the workshop, and notably for our customers who will be able to leverage the synergy offered by the NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS range,” explains Philippe Solignac, Corporate Marketing Director, SPRING Technologies.

2. MORE AUTOMATION to boost productivity

When a program is imported, machine recognition and selection is fully automatic. This means that when a user wants to import a program associated with a machine, NCSIMUL DNC now suggests this machine by default.

The list of available programs is automatically updated, enabling operators to save invaluable seconds when a program is unloaded.

Finally, automatic comparison of machining files has been enhanced and is based on a CRC code (calculated according to file content). When an operator has to manually unload a program, the new calculation method considerably improves the reliability of machining file comparison during the unloading phase and instantly tells the user whether the unloaded program is identical to the previously loaded program, yielding an instant time-saving for operators.

3. EASIER INSTALLATION for faster deployment

Connection to the databases has been simplified, as has deployment via the install wizard. This enables a simple and rapid deployment of NCSIMUL DNC, configuration and testing of the connection to the database. There is no need for a specialist to install this new version of NCSIMUL DNC 8.20.

A library of standard report formats is supplied by default, with an editor that can be used to create customized reports. These templates automatically integrate a range of standard productivity metrics including the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), the Overall Rate of Return (ORR), and the Economic Rate of Return (EIRR), enabling rapid generation of all reports required to monitor machine-tool production activity.

4. TIGHTER INTEGRATION for a leaner digital process

NCSIMUL DNC now comes natively integrated with standard market databases, such as Oracle, Access, SQL Server and Postgre sql. Whichever database you are using, native integration significantly reduces data access time and fits seamlessly into any policy to make data accessible for all external processing (reports, ERP interfaces, etc.).

NCSIMUL DNC is interfaced with Mazatrol (the proprietary language used on Mazak machines), enabling Mazatrol files to be imported from the Isotop software.
