PHIC launches NCSIMUL in CHINA


Held every two years, the Seventh Chinese Numerical Control Competitions (CNCC) took place in China last week. The National NC Skills Competition highlight various levels of skill in NC programming and machining. Bringing together the best of engineers and students from all over China, its objective is to award craftsmanship in efforts to nurture China's future in manufacturing and help reach target manufacturing goals of 2025. The event was covered nationally in printed and televised media. Additionally, in attendance at the inauguration was the Chinese Labor Minister and other national and provincial government leaders. 

The competition itself is divided into three facets: CNC lathe and CNC milling on machining Centers (four-axis, five-axis), CNC machine tool installation and maintenance, overseeing five projects. While the competition evaluated theoretical knowledge, it mainly comprised of two practical operations. The first was a seven hour machine operation test where each contestant was required to machine his or her part correctly on a machine tool. The second part included a three hour examination of CAD design, CAM programming and NC-Code validation using PHIC-NCSIMUL.

NCSIMUL 4CAM wins award at AMB 2016 International

For the last three years, the German industry magazine MM MaschinenMarkt, has awarded eight trophies at the AMB 2016 international exhibition. The show, organized every two years in Stuttgart, is one of the top five in the industry. It draws 1,350 exhibitors from nearly thirty countries, all showcasing their latest offerings for machine-tools, new generations of precision tools and products used across-the-board by professionals in the machining sector. Many vendors were in competition for the different categories of 2016 MM Awards.

 
Why NCSIMUL 4CAM ?

The jury assessed the level of innovation on the strength of three main criteria :
  • Firstly and importantly, the offering had to be completely new or deliver a substantial improvement on an initial development ;
  • Secondly, it had to be revolutionary, rather than just an upgrade, in terms of traditional know-how ;
  • Finally, the eight members of the MM-MaschinenMarkt panel judged the solutions, not only on their intrinsic innovatory quality, but also, above all, on their real-world value in the industrial environment, taking into account the productivity increases actually delivered.

Of the 24 shortlisted businesses, the panel chose 8 winners, selecting one as "outstanding". Competition in the "Software" category, won by SPRING Technologies with its NCSIMUL 4CAM, was fierce, as prestigious rivals included Open Mind Technologies and Mitutoyo CTL Germany.

SPRING Technologies annonce la disponibilité de ses WorkPackages CAM pour NCSIMUL 4CAM

Une avant-première pour les clients internationaux qui les découvriront lors des salons IMTS (US) et AMB (Allemagne)

SPRING Technologies, éditeur de logiciels pour une utilisation optimale et flexible des Machines à Commande Numérique, annonce le lancement des WorkPackages CAM, interfaces entre plusieurs FAO du marché et NCSIMUL 4CAM (anciennement NCSIMUL CAM). Pourquoi un WorkPackage CAM ?
NCSIMUL 4CAM est une solution puissante et novatrice, complément indispensable des FAO pour rendre son agilité à la production. A ce titre, elle doit permettre à ses utilisateurs de récupérer totalement et de façon transparente, leurs projets FAO pour changer de machine à commande numérique (CN) rapidement et facilement, et ce, sans reprogrammation aucune, grâce aux WorkPackages CAM notamment.

Dans le détail, NCSIMUL 4CAM donne aujourd'hui la possibilité au programmeur, quel que soit son secteur d'activité, de récupérer l'assemblage de sa pièce, son système de bridage, son modèle de brut, ses repères d'usinage et de positionnement, sa bibliothèque d'outils coupants associée et ce, directement et aisément, sans avoir besoin d'intervenir de nouveau sur la programmation du parcours d'usinage. En plus des fichiers ISO, le WorkPackage CAM permet, également, de lire les APT suivants : CATIA, Esprit, GO2CAM, NX, Pro-E, Surfcam, pour découper automatiquement les différentes phases d'usinage, afin de faciliter le changement vers la nouvelle machine. Une sécurité et un gain de temps non négligeables pour changer de CN, en fonction des impératifs de production et de la disponibilité du parc machines.

"A Big Picture Look at Simulation" Case Study with Utley's Inc and their use of NCSIMUL MACHINE, published by Modern Machine Shop

        In "A Big Picture Look at Simulation",  CNC programmer Antonios Karoustos at Utley's says, “We’re making some pretty key investments in our CNC department to help us get our parts out to our customers as fast as possible,” Mr. Karoustos says. “We are planning to do a lot of work on the Okuma and will have NCSIMUL test any programs for the new machine, because it is very expensive and we want to avoid damaging it. Company Overview


With a hundred years of experience in the design and manufacturing of industrial pumps, Ensival Moret is a world-renowned supplier whose expertise is internationally recognized. Ensival Moret offers a complete range of centrifugal and mixed flow pumps for a capacity up to 30.000 m3/h with operating temperatures from -320°F to +1652°F. Ensival Moret has seven manufacturing facilities (two plants in France, two plants in Belgium, one plant in China, one plant in Brazil, one plant in India).

Based in Shanghai, Ensival Moret China was established in 1996 as first foreign, wholly-owned enterprise in the pumps field in China. 
The company employs approximatively 250 employees including a R&D team for local design optimization. Ensival Moret China produces a wide range of chemical/industrial pumps and ships over 1000 pumps annually. Ensival Moret China has excellent references in foreign-owned (eg. Arkema) and local chemical industry (eg. Shanghai Huayi, CNOOC) in China. The very high-end and precision machining in this industry sector requires that the cutting process be as efficient as possible and this is why Ensival Moret China decided to introduce NCSIMUL MACHINE in 2013 after a thorough review process of other simulation software products.

NCSIMUL CAM: Streamline your CNC programming and make your shop floor more flexible than ever

SPRING Technologies, vendor of software that optimizes the use of NC Machines, announces the worldwide launch of NCSIMUL CAM. This new product delivers agile CNC programming to streamline the current CAM process and provides unparalleled flexibility on the shop floor.

Fully integrated in the new unified NCSIMUL SOLUTIONS V10 platform (including NCSIMUL MACHINE, NCSIMUL TOOL, and NCSIMUL DNC), it embodies SPRING Technologies’ response to today’s issues in CNC machine programming: removing the typical organizational method of tool path generation (CAM), post-processing, G-code verification and simulation and streamlining the conventional CNC programming process.

According to the company, the primary benefits will be significant cost savings and optimal use of CNC machine because of the flexible programming capability. “This is a major new step forward for the company’s product strategy and in the manufacturing industry,” said Philippe Solignac, corporate marketing director for SPRING Technologies.

The company will demonstrate the new product at the Paris Air Show, stand E71, Hall 2B.

NCSIMUL CAM Product Overview

NCSIMUL CAM directly generates verified and optimized CNC programs, while factoring in the physical resources available on the shop floor, including tools, cutting conditions, kinematics and machine controllers.

With this new solution CAM data (APT neutral file / CL-data) and existing CNC programs can be used easily to generate a valid new CNC program in just a few clicks for another machine using different kinematics and controller. This will enable manufacturers to quickly adapt their existing programs to new resources when retrofitting a machine, buying a new one or when a machining process is repurposed. With a conventional CAM process (CAM-Post-Processor-Machining Simulation), this task could take hours, even days. With NCSIMUL CAM, these times are slashed to minutes.

Likewise, if the target machine initially planned for the CAM program is no longer available for maintenance reasons or is already being used to meet production, it will take just one click with NCSIMUL CAM to switch programming to another machine – whatever its complexity (3X to 5X, 5X to 4X…), the type of kinematics (tilting head to table-on-table for instance) or the type of controller (FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain…).

Thanks to the integration of NCSIMUL Tool database, NCSIMUL CAM provides a direct access to 3D tool data and cutting conditions and automatically reconfigures the tool magazine.

This will provide manufacturers with the level of flexibility they need to achieve rapid switching of scheduled production from one CNC machine to another, making their production means fully flexible and agile.
